  • Guðbjörg Edda Eggertsdóttir

    Chair

    Guðbjörg Edda Eggertsdóttir is an accomplished pharmaceutical executive and pharmacist with over 40 years of industry experience. She holds a master’s degree in pharmacy from the University of Copenhagen and has held top leadership roles, including serving as CEO of Actavis in Iceland. Eggertsdóttir’s influence extends beyond her companies; she served as President of the European Generic Medicines Association (now Medicines for Europe) and currently sits on multiple healthcare and biotech boards. As a recognized industry leader, she was awarded the Knight’s Cross of the Icelandic Order of the Falcon in 2012 and was named a “Woman Worth Watching” that same year. Her strategic acumen and industry influence make her a valuable asset to any board.

  • Mehrnaz Khossravi

    Board Member

    Mehrnaz Khossravi, Ph.D., is a pharmaceutical development executive currently serving as Vice President of Pharmaceutical Development at Vir Biotechnology. She has extensive experience in drug product development and strategic leadership, having held senior roles at leading biopharmaceutical companies including Bristol-Myers Squibb, Centocor (J&J), Merck, and Genentech. Khossravi holds a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the University of Kansas and a B.S. in Pharmacy from Butler University. Khossravi has served on the board of the IQ consortium organization which consists of member pharmaceutical companies for advancing science and technology. Known for her strategic vision and scientific expertise, she has demonstrated a strong track record of leadership and innovation in advancing pharmaceutical pipelines. She also holds multiple patents in biopharmaceutical formulation underscoring her innovative impact in the field.

  • Svava Kristinsdottir

    Board Member

    Svava is a bioengineer and healthcare innovator with a clinical and research-driven background in tissue engineering. As CEO of Marimedx and a PhD candidate at the University of Iceland, she leads strategic our R&D in biomaterials and regenerative medicine. Her expertise spans clinical trial management, regulatory affairs, and product development, particularly in extracellular matrix technologies. She has led multiple clinical and pre-clinical studies in Iceland and abroad, including with Kerecis, and holds advanced degrees in bioengineering.

  • Prof. Dr. Jan Plock

    Prof. Dr. med. Jan Plock is a distinguished plastic and hand surgeon with over two decades of clinical and academic experience. He currently serves as Head of the Department of Plastic Surgery and Hand Surgery at Cantonal Hospital Aarau (Switzerland), where he is also Co-Director of the Skin Cancer Center and chairs the hospital’s wound commission. Dr. Plock holds certifications from both the Swiss Medical Association (FMH) and the European Boards of Plastic Surgery and Hand Surgery. His clinical expertise encompasses microsurgical reconstruction, breast and extremity reconstruction, sarcoma surgery and advanced wound care.  An active contributor to his field, Dr. Plock serves as a national delegate and board member of the European Board of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (EBOPRAS) and contributes to various international medical committees including the UEMS multidisciplinary joint committee on wound healing. He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications and 11 book chapters. He is recognized for his leadership in regenerative medicine and reconstructive microsurgery.

  • Prof. Dr. Steven Jeffery

    Prof. Dr. Steven Jeffery is a Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon and Professor of Wound Study at Birmingham City University. With over 40 years of service in the British Army, including multiple tours in Afghanistan, he has pioneered advanced treatments for burns and complex wounds. Notably, he introduced negative pressure wound therapy in military settings and has utilized innovative methods like fish skin grafts in conflict zones. Prof. Jeffery has been recognized with several awards, including the Military Civilian Partnership Award and the Prime Minister of Armenia's Medal for his humanitarian efforts. He continues to contribute to wound care research and education, holding positions such as Medical Director at Pioneer Wound Healing and Lymphoedema Centres and serving as an expert advisor to NICE.

  • Asids Kristinsdottir

    Co-Founder, VP Manufacturing

    Asdis is a veteran engineering and operations executive with over 20 years of cross-sector leadership experience. Currently VP of Manufacturing at Marimedx, she leads medical device manufacturing with a focus on Lean operations, regulatory compliance, and innovation. Her track record includes overseeing Iceland’s major infrastructure projects and founding a successful consulting firm, Gemba. Asdis brings deep expertise in technical strategy, organizational change, and scalable production systems.

  • Eduardo Theiler

    Co-Founder, VP Business Development

    Eduardo is a seasoned entrepreneur with two decades of experience launching and scaling ventures in healthcare and finance. He founded Phytoceuticals, a wound care company later acquired by Kerecis, where he became General Manager for Europe. Kerecis was subsequently acquired by Coloplast in 2023 for over 1 billion USD. Eduardo holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration and Finance from the University of Zurich and a Diploma in Traditional Medicine.

  • Hilmar Hilmarsson

    VP Regulatory & Quality

    Hilmar is a regulatory and quality affairs leader with over 16 years of experience in biotech and medical devices. As VP at Marimedx, he oversees global regulatory strategy, compliance, and quality systems across key markets. With a PhD in Microbiology, he brings deep technical expertise in biocompatibility, risk management, and FDA/EU MDR submissions. His career includes senior roles at Alvotech and Kerecis, and he is recognized for scientific contributions internationally, including at the Imperial College London and the New York University School of Medicine.

  • Sharon Dahari

    Clinical Development Intern

    Sharon is a medical doctor with five years of clinical experience and a strong focus on healthcare innovation. Recognized for excellence in clinical workflow optimization at Landspítali University Hospital, Iceland, she brings a systems-thinking approach to patient-centered care. Her recent work has improved efficiency and quality across hospital operations. Sharon is committed to advancing Iceland’s healthcare system through strategic, data-driven solutions.

  • Margret Ragnarsdottir

    Project Manager

    Margret is an experienced engineering leader and Lean management expert with a background in energy systems. She holds an MSc in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University, Boston, and has led the geothermal operations team at Iceland’s National Power Company. As founder of Gemba, she consults on Lean transformation, helping organizations achieve operational excellence. Her expertise bridges engineering and continuous improvement to drive sustainable organizational change.
